John Turner

John Turner qualified as a solicitor in 2001 and in 2007 he became a partner of a small city firm on Fleet Street. He joined Fisher Meredith in July 2008 as a Partner and Head of Civil and Commercial Litigation and primarily works from the firm’s Kennington Office.

John has over 10 years experience of litigation matters and has expertise in the Companies Court, High Courts, County Courts, Court of Appeal, Employment Tribunals and the Lands Chamber.

John is regularly instructed by companies and businesses in connection with commercial disputes both arising from commercial contracts with third parties and partnership or shareholder disputes within the business itself. He undertakes a considerable amount of commercial property litigation both for commercial landlords and commercial tenants. He has particular expertise in freezing injunctions and applications in the Companies Court.

On the non-contentious commercial side, John specialises in all elements of business law, ranging from:

  • Advising on business mediums
  • Setting up the business including drafting all necessary documentation such as shareholders’ agreements for companies and partnership agreements for partnerships
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, such as agency, distribution and supply agreements
  • Dealing with employment law aspects of the business
  • Debt collection for the business
  • Acting in sales and purchases of businesses and advising on mergers and acquisitions

In addition to his commercial practice, John is regularly instructed by individuals in connection with civil disputes, including general consumer problems, professional negligence claims against solicitors, barristers, accountants and architects and contentious probate matters.

John regularly advises individuals on the broad range of real estate disputes which residential homeowners may encounter including adverse possession claims, issues regarding restrictive covenants and easements as well as property related professional negligence claims. John has particular expertise in the Lands Chamber and Leasehold Valuation Tribunal.
